Terrible ParentingMy parents used to lock my brother, sister and I in the car while they went to the pub for a "quick one" after work. This quick one might last several hours, during which they would send bottles of Indian Tonic Water to us by way of refreshment.
On one particularly cold evening, bored stupid, we lit a small bonfire on the back seat of the car using the cigarette lighter and the contents of the glove box. We owe our lives to passing winos. (BTW: Please no more Maddie or Jesus gags, they've been done.)

My mum...She once told me how when her dad first found out she smoked, he told her to smoke a whole pack of 20 fags in front of him... one after the other. This was obviously in an attempt to sicken her out of smoking.
It didn't work, she smokes like a chimney.
Anyway, fast forward about 30 years and to when my mum found out that my little sister had been smoking (she was about 14 at the time). My mum decided to use the same technique that had put her off smoking, pffft, but with a minor adjustment (mainly because she's always skint, and too lazy to go up the shops).
She made my sister smoke, *GASP*, 2 whole cigarettes in front of her, one after the other!
Yea, great one mum.
