prepay mobiles
Went from a £30 monthly contract (thats a ridiculous amount in my opinion for a phone) to prepay. I'm a bit of a twat now for phoning people and hanging up when it rings, leaving my number on their call list. They call back saying 'did you call me?' and I pretend that there was a network issue or something. Works a treat. Topped up my phone in July with a tenner, still got £4.68 left. And never reply to texts - the worlds biggest con.

Rang 3 and told them I was not renewing my contract, because I hardly used it. They said don't cancel, but how about £5 per month with same call allowance.

That's a deal I like. Been two years now, I only make calls when I need to, but I can afford 60 brick a year for the privilage.

Couldn't agree more on the text front, though I still begrudgingly pay my 10p a pop. Per MB, texts cost more than it costs to send photos from the Hubble Telescope back here.

I had a "broken" o2 sim card some years back
basically, it was one of the old ones which had the deal "Top up £10 and you'll get 500 texts to use that month for free" Topped up £10, got my texts and all was dandy.. then the next month came and I could still text for free..

I ended up texting people constantly (usually saying "Cll me plz lolz") for 5 years all for the princely sum of £10

Now I'm stuck on an 18 month contract for £35 a month... I'm not sure how it happened.....
