Penny jar
I have a pint glass filled with pennies and 2p's, I empty when its full (~every 2 years or so) and usually get about £6 or so. Its almost full now actually :)

I collect them up too
but then I take them all to the amusement arcades at some tacky seaside resort and put them in the coin pusher machines.

Similar idea
I've got one of those enormous whisky bottles. I try to empty it ever couple of years - usually just before Xmas.

I take it down to Sainsbury's and tip it into the Coinstar machine which produces a ticket that you can exchange for cash at the till.

They take 7.5% commission I think but I still end up with £150 or so when I need it most.

i accumulate about E20 p/m in loose change
that's not skinflintery. It saves on wear and tear on the lining of your pockets :)

Put 20p a day into a pint pot every day...
And you've saved yourself over £72 a year.

Any change I have apart from pound coins goes straight into my pint pot at home, I save £30 a month, less what the coinstar machine donates to charity.

I save
all my crap change (1,2,5,10,20p) that go into a pot for a couple of reasons

I like counting money, even if its just lots of small coins, I find it therapeutic

Every 3 months or so my credit card bill gets paid entirely with bags of small change!

Piggy Bank
I put all change (under £1) into my piggy bank. I will probably have to cash it in soon, I might go and count it now actually, that would cheer me up

And used them for my real life art entry in t'other compo. :)
