This is a question Tightwads

Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

I've refrained from buying a house.

Happy? I nearly shit myself with laughter every day.

I bought
a house in London? Happy? Fuck yes, I got a five year fixed mortgage, I put down a hefty deposit and house prices are still going up where I live.

Damn Straight
You've got to pay for somewhere to live anyway. I can do what the fuck I like to my house without some poncy landlord making a fuss. It is still worth more than when bought. Lower property values means lower property taxes and should I choose to upgrade, now would be an excellent time.

Course, I bought something I could easily afford and didn't borrow beyond my ability to pay but there you go...
