As a new sufferer after 32 years looking for an easy way out, I did some quite in-depth research into this and it's pretty unfounded. Looks to me like a suburban myth.

Some crazy old bat told me this years ago, and despite not having hayfever myself, I've been telling people this "cure" every year.
