My most treasured possession
What's your most treasured possession? What would you rescue from a fire (be it for sentimental or purely financial reasons)?
My Great-Uncle left me his visitors book which along with boring people like the Queen and Harold Wilson has Spike Milligan's signature in it. It's all loopy.
Either that or my Grandfather's swords.

As a young english lad
I went to live in the states for a bit. At school, we all used pencils. If you needed to rub something out, you asked the teacher if you could use her eraser.
So I went up, and asked if I could use her rubber.
I didn't know that was something else in yank-ese, and got sent to the Principal. I've never been so confused in my life.
Actually, the Principal was probably pretty puzzled too....
