My Great-Uncle left me his visitors book which along with boring people like the Queen and Harold Wilson has Spike Milligan's signature in it. It's all loopy.
Either that or my Grandfather's swords.

As an alternative to earning less than the repayment threshold....you could perhaps try to get a decent job which pays enough if you try hard at it, so you can pay the loan back comfortably.
The downside is you have to pay it back. The plus side is you get to have nice things and life is a little easier.
