Unemployed
I was Mordred writes, "I've been out of work for a while now... however, every cloud must have a silver lining. Tell us your stories of the upside to unemployment."
You can tell us about the unexpected downsides too if you want.

thanks
that's how i'd LIKE things to go.
the simple fact is, i'm a graphic designer, not a bloody network tech. this job, and the crazy hours, are making me into someone i don't like, so without further ado, i am handing in my notice, dropping a £30k job to go and fix bicycles for a living on minimum wage for a few months while i get my sleeping patterns back to normal and finish working on my design portfolio and apply for some jobs.
it's been a long time coming.
money is NOT happiness and anyone confusing the two is deluded.

i won't enjoy the £5.76 an hour
i WILL however, enjoy sleepingb at night and being awake in the day, maybe having weekend soff, riding my bike, fixing the other bikes, working with my good buddies, and not hating the person i see in the mirror every morning.

Good for you
I'm ready to bail too but don't have a f'in idea what I'd want to do. I could even do without the money for a while. I'm basically coming in to work just because it's easier than thinking about the alternative.
