not Coke, as I don't like it, but other soft drinks, like Irn Bru, and beer too.

Plastics can release VOCs into the liquid, tainting it, and likewise metal cans can release various things (probably not the metal, as they're coated to stop that) which make the drink taste different. Glass is pretty inert though.

very true
so does beer. And tea is undisputably better drunk out of china. Different mugs seem to affect the taste too - I have about 20 mugs but only 2 or 3 favorites that the tea tastes better out of and price doesn't seem to come into it.
