This is a question Starting something you couldn't finish

Finnbar says: I used to know a guy who tattooed LOVE across his left knuckles, but didn't tattoo HATE on the other knuckles because he was right-handed and realised he couldn't finish. Ever run out of skills or inspiration halfway through a job?

Building a pond
When I was about 14, I spent 2-3 months convincing my mum to let me build a pond in the back garden. She eventually relented.
There were some council houses being refurbished nearby, so my cousin and I filled the shed up with 'borrowed' bricks that I would need for my extensive design. I ripped up the rockery and dug up the whole lawn - this was going to be one hell of a pond. I got about 6 inches down, when I found what looked like a bed frame buried in the soil. It was really difficult to get out, so I just left it and gave up on the idea. My mum eventually had the garden slabbed over 4 years later and my dad never got his bike out of the shed again. I
am in exactly the same position. I have a half-dug pond full of weeds at the bottom of the garden. I even asked my son's scout patrol to help and they got down to the concrete-hard clay and decided to play on the Wii instead. I'll get it finished one day.

I'm in the
dug a hole and got bored with it club too.

I did it when I was about 10. Me and a friend decided what my garden was missing was a swimming pool.

So we got some shovels and took about 3 sqare metres of topsoil off of the lawn, then abandoned it, and went to the park.

When he discovered our handiwork, rather than wait for me to get home, my Dad actually sent my brother to the park to bring me home.

Distinct lack of pocket money that year.

When I moved house, I took my goldfish with me and had to dig a pond at the new place on the day I moved in. Didn't encounter a buried bed to be fair.
