We voted WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange as B3ta's Person of the Year. Who do you have as 2010's scoundrel and why?

Yes yes bite on the socialists bums why don't you.
Like George Orwell too? Who, whilst carefully skirting the "I named names of writers possibly sympathetic to the Soviet Union" issue - seeing it's slightly ironic - was anti Stalinist and yet distinctly socialist.

Although I'll admit I've only seen his television appearance and not read his blog (if you would kindly enlighten me), nor his poetry (god preserve me) from what I've seen that yes I'd be willing to say the lad's rhetoric even there is idealistic and possibly rather naive, yet nevertheless I don't believe he's standing up for a dictatorship - of the proletariat or of any other kind.

Suggesting he's a villain is just frankly bollocks, further if he wants to get on the fucking underground like any other person I should think it might be nice to allow it.

Here's his blog.

Villain or no, I don't like opinionated nits who are not nearly as clever as they think themselves.

As for him using the underground, all he needs to do is get out of his chair and use it like any other person. If he can climb the stairs to the roof of the Millbank then he can stand on an escalator. So ranting about the lack of disabled access is him making noise for the sake of it.

Well even if he can there are those that can't and I think he raises a good point there.
Personally I was surprised when I went to London and saw very few Disabled access stations. But then I'm a loiner with no public transportation other than buses anyway.

But thanks for the link. I'll agree he's probably a bit up himself but other than that fairly harmless - like any other "revolutionary" student, really. I wouldn't have named him a villain just a very idealistic lad.
