He and Kevin Costner
Hollywood's two anti-actors. Kick-Ass somehow manages to be a good film despite Cage's presence, probably because he was told to tone down the equine scenery-chewing to the point where you barely noticed him. Red Rock West is also good, but might have been a rival to Miller's Crossing if it had starred somebody else.
Don't get me started on Kevin Costner. Read the script for Bull Durham online, and in spite of not giving a monkey's toss about baseball decided it was probably a pretty good flick. Watched Costner's performance, in which he delivered the first key speech of the film as if reading off the ingredients on a cereal packet, and was sore dismayed.
