Waste of money
I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.
Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

get a quieter PSU
and mount it using those rubber washers you've got. I think mine was just under £30 for around 350w of utter quiet. be realistic about how much PSU oomph you need though - big wattage costs in money and/or noise, but too little and things like hard drives don't spin up when you want... add in maybe £20 for a very very quiet CPU fan and just leave the original case be.

I bought a good one ages ago.
I like the idea of adding the washing to it, good idea. Will do that - thanks.
