This is a question Waste of money

I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.

Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

Just for the record
I love my bread-maker and use it all the time. Saves a fortune, as it costs approx. 10p to bake a loaf that would cost £1 in the shops. Nicer, too.

ok
how the hell do you manage it? i've got a bread maker and a book of recipes and every loaf i've tried (all two of them) turn out really dense and flavorless. i follow the recipes exactly (about the order to place the ingredients in and the little hole you dig in the middle for i think the egg but it's been a while) and it still tastes cruddy and i have to make my bread by hand. how do you do it????

You're adding egg
That's where you're going wrong.
You're meant to be making bread, not a cake.

Well, *she's* making cake
when she should be making bread.

I worked mine out as 3p a loaf for electricity, but I've not counted the cost of ingredients...

Actually, I'm going to go make a ginger cake in mine right now. And it won't be like bread!

Re. bread making
Ignore the bollocks recipes that you get with the device. Bread does not contain egg or milk powder.

Simply use normal bread recipes (plenty on the internet).

I use approx 3 cups flour with about half a cup water, a glug of olive oil, a tablespoon of sugar, a teaspoon of salt and a sachet (7 g) of yeast. When it is mixing, if it looks too dry, dribble in more water.
