This is a question Waste of money

I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.

Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

EsCom P60 with 1st generation Windows 95. Buggy as you like and complete with floating point error. Escom went bust 3 days after I bought it.

I worked for them.

THe main reason they went bust is probably the all expense paid trips to Scotland for training that the managemnt got.

Flights to Glasgow (or was it Edinburgh), then taxi to Ayr where the head office place was.

THey were awesome, nothing better than single malt scotch when the company is paying for it. Om Nom Nom..

God I miss those days. lol.

I did almost exactly the same! Bought my new PC for a grand in cash as I recall. Originally order a 486 DX2 66 with 4Mb of ram, but after a month no PC, they eventually upgraded me to the mighty P60 with EIGHT Mb of RAM for free, but when I got it it had windows 3.11 on it :( Eventually got Windows 95 from them and it was like night and day.

Then they went bust.... then the PC bust.... many sleepless nights with hundreds of disks and no freaking clue and no google to fix it. But fix it I did and I've been in IT Support for a decade now :)

Hang on, so maybe my story is nothing like yours and the PC was an investment that got me into my current career and not a waste of money!? Damn it
