This is a question I witnessed a crime

Freddy Woo writes, "A group of us once staggered home so insensible with drink that we failed to notice someone being killed and buried in a shallow grave not more than 50 yards away. A crime unsolved to this day."

Have you witnessed a crime and done bugger all about it? Or are you a have-a-go hero?
Whatever. Tell us about it...

...
Yikes.

EDIT: The more I think about this, the more it seems to me that there'd be plentiful grounds to appeal. Not just that there's circumstantial evidence of petty vindictiveness, but also on the basis that the evidence is simply one person's word against another's. Allowing the basic claim that it's up to the complainant to prove her assertions, and that that is difficult for the same reason that makes it difficult for M to disprove them, he looks to have justice on his side. Moreover, even if disproof can't be given, it shouldn't matter: he shouldn't be expected to give it in the first place (innocence being the presumption an' all).

Is M in a union? They might be able to help him construct his case. There's something fishy going on...
