You start off with the best of intentions, but through raging incompetence, ineptitude or the plain fact that you're working in IT, things go terribly wrong and there's hell to pay. Tell us about the epic failures that have brought big ideas to their knees. Or just blame someone else.

I want nothing more than to be a teacher. Yet despite working as unqualified supply for almost two years, applying to 6 or 7 different universities, and generally being alot better than alot of NQT's I have worked with, I have managed three failed interviews (out of a possible 12) over the last 3 years. Every school I have worked at said I am good and would make a fantastic teacher...I wish they would tell the bloody admissions people.
Right now I'm down to my last choice of uni this year (after being rejected from 3) and it's the University of East London ffs. I don't think I'm being big-headed when I say I'm better than that but I will take the offer if comes along, just so I don't have to do another year of supply work - in fact I may just do my masters.
So, not quite failed completely but this is getting tiresome.

2 years working as a TA, network tech, IT support and occasional unqualified cover teaching, and I've been rejected from all the PGCEs I applied for. I can't think what else I have to do.
GTP it is, then- my last shot....

but I fear maybe I am too late to get a GTP place this year. I'm waiting on UEL and if it's a no, then it's a toss up between masters and GTP.

If there was any justice in the world, aspiring teachers would get to university ahead of people who just want a three year pissup.

in the form of glowing letters of recommendation, and add them into your applications.
If you've already done that then the universities are feckin' retarded. Which wouldn't be a surprise.

That is all you can do on the application. It is a really good one.
On a lighter note, the school I am working at now are contracting me 'til July (I work for an agency at the mo) so at least I have some job security.
Still waiting on UEL though....
