Aargh! My daughter had a cassette of the book,
which she had to listen to every single night, while I sat with her until she fell asleep.
I loved it at first, but after several months I had come to know and hate every word in it, and Maureen Lipman too.
When the tape finally broke, she moved on to The Railway Children ...
