Taxis for the deaf?
What bollocks is that?
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:10, archived)
Walking home/getting public transport can be a risk
As I can't hear gangs, more likely to get mugged etc
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:11, archived)
*makes note*
Good one. I might use that one with the taxman
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:12, archived)
Absolute utter utter fucking bollocks.

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:12, archived)
Are you deaf?
Have you been mugged? Has the police told the goverment that in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS I would have been safe if I could have heard them?

Doubt it
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:14, archived)
Oh. My. God.
You're being serious, aren't you?
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:15, archived)
Shut up. Really.
I am male. Men are many times more likely to be attacked than women.

Where's my free fucking taxi, you feeble fucking whinging prick? It's no wonder people with genuine needs don't get the services they need with money-grabbing life-fearing pricks like you about.
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:17, archived)
Yes, because you know from being able to hear footsteps
or general background noise that it's a gang/mugger behind you.
And they usefully announce themselves and their intentions after all, so yeah, being deaf gives you a serious disadvantage in most situations.

I'm sorry for your disability love, but christ.
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:18, archived)
haha... THEY'RE ALL AFTER ME!

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:19, archived)
Phew. That's a relief.
It was looking slightly like bullying then. But you've arrived and given it all a gloss of acceptability. Hello Mrs. BotheredMe. How's tricks?
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:23, archived)
this is UTTER UTTER shite!
what about people who can't fight for shit? I suppose they should get DLA because if they get mugged then the police will tell them..

'IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS'

that if they hadn't been soft as shite, then they'd be able to fight them off...

FUCK OFF PLEASE!
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:19, archived)
how the fuck is being able to hear
going to stop people in front of you mugging you?
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:26, archived)
All muggers attack from behind.
FACT FACT FACT.
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:30, archived)
i got mugged from behind
:(
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:31, archived)
If you'd have put up less struggle, it would have been much more enjoyable for us both.

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:32, archived)
THIS! with a fucking go-faster-stripe!
if my gf couldn't get DLA or a spack-plaque for her car with the crippling pain of an MS episode... you can fucking sing for it
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:14, archived)
Oh for fuck's sake.

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:13, archived)
eh? are you for real?
my mother can hear perfectly but she'd be just as useless against a GANG or a mugger!
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:13, archived)
she can't hear where she is going when she runs away

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:14, archived)
Good lord.

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:14, archived)
Sorry sammi but thats bullshit.
Deaf and blind people manage to traverse london all the time without these problems.
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:14, archived)
I bet they all get a lot higher rate DLA than I do
You can bullshit it all you like.
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:16, archived)
No they dont
I have done alot of work with disabled people and they do not get taxis everywhere
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:19, archived)
most people I've met with degenerative MS feel empowered to be doing things on their own

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:21, archived)
This
I know of several people who are disabled and all of them take public transport to various places and cope very well.

Plus, I'd never be able to hear someone behind me with my hearing and that's never stopped me going out.
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:30, archived)
imagine a rotweiller guide dog
that would be handy against muggers
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 12:17, archived)
haha

(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 13:14, archived)
fuck off
in that case i need it too as i wear earphones all the time
