i wrote my dissertation on it, in fact (it didn't have internet capability, so i wouldn't get distracted). sadly, it seems to have packed up recently

Not wanting to get into a pissing war,
but the converstion when it was produced was that it was his treat to himself after he graduated and got his first job. He typed all his college papers on a typewriter. The kids didn't really get it.
