There's a stage ON THE PITCH
and fans running all over it...during the 45 minute half time in a game with 4 fifteen minute quarters, each of which has many many short breaks in play in it.
There is so much wrong with this 'sport'

It was designed for ad breaks
You can't get many of those in a proper footy game.

I know
but it really irritates me, especially when you see how much they all get paid as well.
The thing is, when they finally manage to pull off one of their 'plays' and score, it's actually quite impressive, but it only happens twice a game or something stupid and you have to sit through the rest of the nonsense to get to it

The 'season' consists of 16 games
plus a few more if they get to the superbowly stuff
It only lasts 17 weeks each year (plus the superbowl etc)
Each game only consists of 60 mins of actual play, with barely more than 45 seconds of continuous exertion at any one time
Since each team literally has about 3 times the number of players they actually need, constantly available, none of them ever even play a full game anyway
Premiership footballers are overpaid, but these guys are just taking the piss
Edit: unless you were talking about the nothing happening bit, which is fair enough, but at least there's a constant flow towards trying to score etc, as opposed to timeout, discussion, timeout, discussion, timeout etc

I don't understand American football, and I lived there.
I prefer lolfootball.
