I recently watch an excellent B-movie called 'Splinter'
www.imdb.com/title/tt1031280/

This is my film recommendation of the week

It gets 4/5 pies.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:22, archived)
Pffft, like you'd give out pies.
You keep them all for yourself.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:23, archived)
Its because of the fat, isnt it?
shockingly i havent had a pie in a while. i must rectify this
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:28, archived)
Suppositoripies!

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:30, archived)
Yes, but you recommended 100 Feet, which I duly watched
and it just turned out to be your fantasy for when you die.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:24, archived)
Is the title reference to the approximate height of the pie he'd like to be greeted with at the pearly gates?

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:25, archived)
HAHAHAFAT

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:30, archived)
Steady on, I'm only warming up.

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:31, archived)
You just let us know when you get funny
Save us the bother of having to pay attention to you
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:32, archived)
Not at all
Its a good little movie!

The ghost is actually rather cool compared to how ghosts seem to be portrayed in most movies
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:29, archived)
That's true, but it was basically about domestic violence.
He could have been alive and it'd be almost the same film.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:33, archived)
True
But then independence day could have been about another country invading rather than aliens. But it wasnt.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:34, archived)
The prosecution rests.
edit: And I'm getting Splinter, it'd better be good fun.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:35, archived)
Haha
Well i enjoyed it:) Thats about all i can say.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:36, archived)
But then they wouldn't get the chance to use unbelievably cringeworthy, stereotypical ridiculous English accents!

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:37, archived)
Where were the English accents in Independence Day?

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:41, archived)
on the radio near the end
when america had already won the day and was graciously letting the unimportant countries have a go, too
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:43, archived)
Oh yes.
*morse codes to the silly foreign rubbishes*
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:45, archived)
I would give my left nipple
for a recording of this. Apparently it's impossible to get hold of, though.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:45, archived)
Except on audio cassette, I discover after a quick google.
And I have nowt to play such a thing on.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:49, archived)
ask the BBC library if they have a CD version
I'm betting they will have
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:53, archived)
and in the airfield in the middle east
with iraqi and israel pilots.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:45, archived)
I actually threw up the first time I heard it

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:46, archived)
There was an RAF pilot
in the middle east, saying

TALLY HO WHAT WHAT LOOKS LIKE THOSE BALLY YANKS HAVE DONE IT

or something like that
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:45, archived)
that was pretty much it.
"Looks like the Americans have a plan!"
"About bloody time!"

That was it.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:47, archived)
Is that not just The Thing but in a petrol station?
/half arsed reading of the description
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:24, archived)
In many respects yes
But the splinter thing in itself makes it all the more creeeeepy
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:32, archived)
I'd recommend a watching of this one
www.imdb.com/title/tt0065513/
I still remember it quite vividly now, and it's been probably 20 years since I saw it
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:28, archived)
Agustín González ... Hombre segunda cabina (Man in Second Phone Booth)
I'm watching this!
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:29, archived)
That sounds quite cool
I might take a look
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:31, archived)
it's on youtube as a 4-part breakdown
if you can cope with youtube quality.
it's really a very thought-provoking and disturbing film, well worth a looksee
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:36, archived)
I *think* I saw this film
pretty disturbing and surreal?
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:43, archived)
I thought I'd seen that but I haven't
I am happy today as I have just discovered I might be going to Dubai for a week next April.

WOOHOO!
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:31, archived)
Dubai?
They hack the limbs off the likes of you over there! Careful now.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:36, archived)
I'm going to watch Tropic Thunder tonight.
No pies.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:32, archived)
Pretty good the first time round
But you really do have to be in the mood for it

Worth it if only for tom cruise dancing at the end during the credits.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:33, archived)
Best cinema moment of 2008

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:38, archived)
Is the 1985 film 'Brazil' any good?
There's an old fashioned cinema in Leeds showing it, I may go see
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:33, archived)
Well its not amazing
Its visuals are better than the story etc
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:35, archived)
As long as it's bearable, I don't mind
the amount of chick flicks i've been dragged to means i'm not fussy
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:36, archived)
I'd say it is a very special film and well worth seeing and very good and yes yes yes.

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:44, archived)
Yes, yes it bloody well is

(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:35, archived)
it's worth a go looksee
I remember it being good, nicely obscure and chock full of imagery and all that.
(, Wed 12 Nov 2008, 10:39, archived)
will you watch the `forbin project`
I cannot promote this movie enough.

and its a oldie.
