Codeine only worked for me as I don't usually take it as a pain killer and was trying to give my body something different.

codine should not really be used long term, or maybe, up to you really, no offence

I haven't used it in a few years, either
And I've been using paracetomol mixed with ibuprofen a lot when I got an abscess.

Still, roll on permanent retainer!
