If I'm ill enough to be off work, it's serious.
So, y'know, I usually stay in bed hoping for the blessed relief of death, only getting out to pebble-dash the porcelain, vomit blood or both.

I don't work 9-5, so in the more general case of feeling better half an hour before the end of the shift,
I wouldn't - but only because it takes me the best part of an hour to get there.
