I like going out,
but eating properly comes first. Maybe it's connected to my general lack of sex drive, I dunno. The theory is, you see, that evolutionarily, survival isn't the only important thing. You could live to a thousand but if you never got a mate it wouldn't do your genes any good. So actually there's a compromise between survival behaviours and social behaviours. Social status increases your chances of attracting a mate.

My thoughts are
-most people I don't know already are quite disappointing
-pubs are full of teenagers
-it's quite expensive.

I'm not really good at the whole 'get up and go' thing at the best of times, certainly not when I have to pay money to only vaguelly enjoy it if I even do so at all.

Pubs really are expensive,
at least, they are here and now. The student bars were bargain bonus. I didn't skimp on either eating or getting pissed in those days.
I like my regular, but I wouldn't go there every night like I used to be able to. The worst is when Spacefish's work friends invite us to a night out, because they always go to these trendy bars, and they're expensive and I don't much feel like I really fit in.

The only pub I go to is the local rock pub
which is alright, and we play there, but it's always full of kids who needlessly annoy me.

If pubs did coffee more, I'd be more inclined to go.

My regular does coffee, I think,
I've never had it there, though. They do excellent food at more than reasonable prices, and you wouldn't believe the size of their bowls of nachos.
It's a right old goth haunt, I'm not a goth myself, but they're a friendly, non-intimidating bunch.

I'd not touch the food if my local served any.
The only reason I touch the glasses is because my mate tends bar there and I know he's cleaned out the pot washer.

I thought most pubs did coffee now
I don't know if it's ever any good though.

Most (forgive the term) yuppie-ish pubs
or at least, that's my observation. Also the larger chain pubs, which it also isn't.
