we used to have a static caravan in the lakes which used to have an old style electricity meter
when we went up there at weekends, i used to loosen the pin screw underneath meaning the wheel didn't spin and the numbers didn't turn
couple that with swapping our half empty gas bottles for freshly changed ones off the site-owned caravans meant that our utility bill for the year rarely exceeded £60

I don't care.
If you're not in the south wales area, it's not my problem. Did you know there are 4 terminals on a prepayment meter, if you cross the wires between terminal 1 and 4 you bypass the mechanism that charges you for usage? Hot tip, wouldn't recommend trying it though, very dangerous.

That's the old style meters.
New ones are digital, with the older ones, sticking magnets either side of the meter would slow the dial down.
