I had a bent copper living 4 doors down from me in the house I grew up in.
Sevral times his wife franticly screamed while knocking our door at silly hours all bruised up, his kids were wrong 'uns too. Wouldn't suprise me if he was on the take, always had a bit of flash and it wouldn't have been easy to live on our road on a copper's wage in those days without a second income from the misses.
I've seen both sides of the police, not personally, they haven't done anything bad to me, but to mates and stuff... but I'm sure I've heard the "He had a fit; lost his HVG Lisance" story a few times, I'm sure of it.

I've found so many uses for it that I didn't even think I'd use it for, such as...
- Using the calendar/email/address book, like I do on my iPhone, only it's less fiddly, all the data syncs up with google still.
- Reading comics, I don't normally read comics but the Marvel app makes it a lot easier to follow, as you can set it to show you one frame at a time.
- Hooking it up to the telly to watch stuff I've downloaded, like i would do on my iPhone.
- Browsing the net in bed or in the living room without lugging around my lappy.
- Reading books.
- there are a few good games on there, Angry Birds is one of them.
- Writing down notes and stuff, and that syncing up.
- RSS news reader that syncs up with google reader, so I get updates from all my fave websites.
I kindda wish I had the 3G version, but I can buy this gizmo to do the same job, and not be tied down to any contracts. Plus the software I'm developing will let me browse the web while out'n'about using my iPhones connection without jailbreaking.
You still after a new phone? They're anouncing the new iPhone in about 5 days and there are tons of pictures now floating about which generally means it's less than a month 'till it's out.
