Can't remember the amount of mints/bottle and whether they were crushed up or owt but the guy who told me the recipe after letting me have shot after shot of his delicious vodka (in a bar that specialised in flavoured vodka shots - for 1 euro a pop) said he kept the sweeties in a big jar full of vodka for two weeks before filtering off the solids.

I think regularly turning the bottle/jar/recepticle/whatever upsidedown, like twice a day, is a good idea from memory - my old boss used to make cranberry vodka that way, with cranberries (and a few esoteric additives for flavour - he had it down to perfection) in place of sweeties.
