Are you ever intending to get your food blog back up and running?
Used to like reading that.

I may start again soon.
I've got kimchi chocolate, Cambodian fried locusts and big mac soup in the works, but working 9am-6pm, 7 days a week right now, and looking after pregnant wife, so very little time available.
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 4:29, archived)
oh that kind of food..
don't you realise there are fellas over here that need a stringy wife and year long sun
hw to cut the visa restrictions would be handy on your blog

There are worse things in the world
Than a bi-yearly weekend trip to Bangkok, Jakarta or Singapore.
Your visa is renewed upon re-entry to the country.

true
but if they change the rules again.. who knows what will happen

Bi Yearly
Jakarta! Live there.
Bangkok. (Well Pattaya really) Have a house there!
Singapore. Shove it up yer arse! hate the place!
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:08, archived)
Heh- wondered when you would show up.

Having access issues here.
They have 1/2 heartedly put proxies in place and they deny access to b3ta approximately 5 minutes out of 15... cunts!
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:24, archived)
That's no good.
I've just booked a holiday- not sure that it's the best decision I've ever made but I'll play it through and see what happens.
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:26, archived)
Where are you going?

(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:36, archived)
Kiev- in the middle of December.

(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:52, archived)
Hi. I just want to agree with you about Singapore here.
Most miserable population I have ever seen.
The Malays, Chinese & Indians seem to not even speak to each-other (unlike KL for example).
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:45, archived)
On my first visit I was pleasantly surprised at what I thought to be a "neat and tidy" city.
But, after at least 20 visits I am now jaded with the whole place!
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 6:11, archived)
h right
whoops.. as you were
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 4:53, archived)
Visas for China are piss easy, nobody even cares.
If you want year round sun you'd probably be better off going elsewhere though.
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 4:53, archived)
I think stuj was denied one
But that may be because of his job.
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 4:54, archived)
It's literally the only time I've ever heard of it happening.

Perhaps they were trying to save Ding from being raped.

Fair point.
Congratulations on marriage and not being sterile.

So much passes by when you're not watching.
Are you intending to stay in China for the foreseeable future or do you envisage a time that you might permanently return to the UK?
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 4:46, archived)
I'll come back to the UK at some point.
Absolutely not sending my kids to Chinese schools.
And I'm tired of living in the one place in the world where a TEFL trainer gets paid less than the teachers he's training.
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 4:51, archived)
Would you return to the UK though?
You've obviously become acclimatised to foreign living- so why not, for example, France, Spain or Holland?
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 4:56, archived)
I wouldn't!
I left the UK in 1986. I really don't think I would fit in any more...
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:10, archived)
It's shit here anyway.

(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:35, archived)
I know!
I'm back for about 8 days in October and not looking forward to it at all.
(, Fri 27 Aug 2010, 5:37, archived)
I might just travel around forever.
We'll see.
