Sounds fine to me.
A cover version that takes a song in a different direction is doing it right. If it sounded like the original then what would be the point.

There's a reason Eva Cassidy
didn't make it when she was alive and that's cos she was dull. Mind you, Snow Patrol, Leona Lewis, etc.

I hate saying phrases like this, but they used to be excellent, first album was great. then they did what they did.

Then Biffy Clyro did a Snow Patrol. Ugh, they used to be great too.
