I think you'd need to kill his wife as well, lest she find another gibbering fuckwit to boss into trying to run the country.
There was an interesting thing in an interview with Jon Snow. Apparently he was on Idi Amin's private jet as a young journalist and he seriously toyed with the idea of nicking his gun and shooting him.
