Richey from the manics was a fucking wanker
When I started university I got some NatWest info pack thing and he'd written a page in it telling students to do their homework. Rock AND roll, the cunt.

Conversely the levellers, despite making awful music, were at least in part real deal traveller types and I had a jolly good laugh with them once.

So it turns out richey couldn't tell shit, and given the awful pretentiousness of his own shitty band ('oh this one's about the fucking Spanish civil war') he was without a leg to stand on. Maybe that's why he drowned.
