I'm trying to learn to play the baseline on this:

It'll take me many, many months....

I was gonna buy up vaseline.org

I was hoping the trains would be fuckex , but no , so I'm at work

(, Mon 8 Feb 2021, 8:26, archived)
unlucky
the worst is when they become fucked during your working day leaving you buggered at home time. That would be infinitely worse at the moment given that you can't just sit in a pub waiting for them to sort it out
(, Mon 8 Feb 2021, 8:29, archived)
This is, of course, how the school's decided whether or not to open (in normal times obviously)
They don't give a shit how you get to school, they just don't want to be stuck with your kids if you can't pick them up
(, Mon 8 Feb 2021, 8:31, archived)
I remember getting sent home from secondary school due to frozen/burst pipes or some shit
My mother didn't believe me and phoned the school to check. Nice to know that your own mother thinks you'd be so fucking thick as to bunk off school and go straight home where she's waiting for you.
(, Mon 8 Feb 2021, 8:42, archived)
My mum sent me to school after the big storm in the 80s because didn't believe schools would close because of a bit of wind, there were fucking trees down outside

At the risk of going all Peter Kay
Sitting around a radio, waiting to hear if my school wasn't opening is a strong memory from my past

80s mums were a lot tougher than they are today
My kid gets to stay at home for rhe most trivial nonsense, mind you her mum suffers from hypochondria by proxy
(, Mon 8 Feb 2021, 9:19, archived)
It's a running joke in our family about how harsh my mum was
My brother complained of chest pains once. She told him to crack on, it was probably just trapped wind. Turned out to be a collapsed lung.

Nut roast update: it was great, I recommend it. Having goose fat roasties and meat gravy stopped the whole experience from feeling parsimonious. Will defo do it again. 7-8/10
(, Mon 8 Feb 2021, 8:27, archived)
Ah nice one
I'll give that a whirl. We had nut roast too, but I made a big one a couple of weeks ago, and the leftovers froze really well. #LifeHacks #LifeSpacks
