He has issues. I saw some programme where he spoke about how his mum died when he was a kid and the closest his dad got to emotional was giving him a packet of chomps or something. Each time he does a recipe I expect him to say something like "this feta and chicory salad is something I invented while the vet put down my puppy when I was 11, I find my tears of grief add just the right amount of saltiness to the dressing. You could use the juice from a jar of olives."

There's a bit in his autobiography where he sees his dad wanking in the greenhouse.He's too young at that point to know what wanking is, but the weirdest part, I thought, is the dad's extremely unconventional choice of wanking venue.
