Went dizzy going up the stairs Saturday night
Fell backwards down the stairs and broke his left shoulder, left arm, four ribs and his pelvis. He's 78, so pretty fragile. I think he's enjoying the peace and quiet.

Ow, ow, ow-ow-ow-ow, ow.
Watch out for sepsis and whatnot. Best of luck with his rehabilitation... Is he normally quite spry and active?

They're out and about every day
When they're home, he's usually doing something in the garden, he hates staying still

Well hopefully that works in his favour in the long term then.
It's bloody hard to relax with painful ribs, but with a broken pelvis I guess he's staying put for a while.

They're trying everything to get him back home
2 male nurses actually helped him to stand up and walk around his bed today. I know that sounds like a good thing, but I think they're rushing it due to lack of beds

The chances of infection might be lower at home..?*
If he's getting physio already that is actually really good. Far better than a 78yo deteriorating in bed in my layman opinion. Seems risky with a broken pelvis but the medical experts are probably acting in his best interest.*

*especially if the ward has had problems with mrsa, sepsis, etc.

True
I just know that he was in a lot of pain, which I don't want for him.

Oof, poor bugger.
I wish him the best.
