I've always wondered, are they calculating that sale value by the 1/8? Cause a 9-bar used to cost about 150 quid, IIRC, and an 1/8 would be about 15 quid, i.e. 1080 quid - so maybe we should be dividing all these coppers' estimates by about 7 or so?

are most usually the 'street' value as defined by police who stand to gain from promotion for overstating the success of their drugs operations.
Some arseholes sell shit weed for £30 per gram in a nightclub or whatever, therefore an ounce is worth £840 rather than the real 'street' value of ~£150 (which would be 5.6 times cheaper).
Dunno how much a 9bar of soap is these days, not that you can find it, not that you'd actually want to.

once asked me (20+ years ago): "is 10mls meff'done about the same as a tenner packet of skag?"
I didn't know. Always heard the £/ml price comparison around then, but doubted it was accurate based on the sheer volumes they were re-selling. Half price for immediately regurgitated methadone sounds about right though.
