Loved the first series, haven't started the second one yet

I started the second series two weeks ago, the third episode is available tonight, but I was a bit lost, it's been a long time.
So I rewatched the first season this week, and I strongly recommend doing that unless you still have a fairly decent memory of it. It hasn't been a chore at all, I've actually enjoyed it a lot more the second time around.

I rewatched s1 to recap for the new season as I knew I'd forgotten a lot of details,
my concern is if they can make the more absurd aspects of the show make sense for want of a better expression as they are pretty daft.

That was my concern too, I never watched Lost but I know what went wrong with it.
The goats In particular, I was wondering if it was just some waki shite to keep it strange.
So far the new season has fit things together more than extending them, I'm starting to think it's tightly plotted and not aimless at all..

Also, not a fan of Ben Stiller's movies but I thought some of the episodes he directed in season 1 were really impressive. Just in general though, a lot of love and attention seems to have been put into every aspect of the show. It hit me far harder watching it for a second time.

He made a show called Escape at Dannemora based on a real prison break
which was really good, the guy knows how to make decent telly.
