I was once a parent chaperone on a school visit to there. My heavy explanation of the northern Ireland troubles and the Baltic exchange stained glass window were remarked upon by a teacher. I was told to keep it more child friendly.

You know kids though, they love to rebel against authority figures and you sounded like one there.
I used to do regular work in a pharmacy in Kirkcaldy 25-odd years ago. Three of the daily methadone clients invariably came in wearing Celtic tops. One Saturday they all came in early, which was unusual. Then an hour later the drumbeat came up from the boulevard and then the Orange March went past the front of the shop.

It surprised me, I had always thought that Orange March bullshit was a Glasgow/west coast thing, but there it was in Fife. I think it was a locally niche concern with dedicated adherents.
