This is a question Performance

Have you ever - voluntarily or otherwise - appeared in front of an audience? How badly did it go?

My Freddy Mercury Moment
On the Liberty & Livelihood March (Yeah the pro-hunting march) I had been asked to take my banjo by the organisers.
I walked along playing hunting songs and lots of people joined in - they are a musical bunch whether you love 'em or loathe 'em
As I walked on to Whitehall I struck up with the best known hunting song, "John Peel"
...tens of thousands of people joined in. There were about quarter of a million on the march.
It was quite a buzz.
Tally ho.

Ah ... hunting.
The right to torture animals to death for no other reason than the name of sport.

No it is not because they're a pest. Guns are for pest control.

I kill animals because they taste good

You bastard,
my uncle was an animal that tasted good!

And how many of the foxes that are killed by hounds actually make it to the table?
It's killing things for fun. The pro-hunting lobby will tell you it's about pest-control but in the next breath they'll tell you they hardly ever catch anything and it's all about the socialising and the sport.

If it's about pest-control, it's incredibly inefficient and inhumane. If it's about sport, what's wrong with drag-hunting instead of packs of hounds ripping small mammals apart?

Guns
Guns were not available when they started hunting and that would not have made it sporting.

Fascist.

Fascist?
Unfortunately there were fascists who used the L&L march. They stood on the sidelines trying to give a newspaper away. The BNP had tried to jump on it as a bandwagon and they were, in the main being told to fuck off. I saw one BNP loony with a pile of news papers held in his arms. I asked him if the newspapers were free, he said they were. So I took loads of them and threw them in a nearby litter bin. I got away with it twice.
I'm no fascist incidentally. I'm actively trying to do stuff to fuck up the English dickhead league as much as possible. Voted labour for decades. And I'm still hunting - not on horseback, nor with the posh pseuds. Within the law.
Tally ho!
(, Fri 19 Aug 2011, 22:30, closed)
I don't really think you're a fascist (I was being flippant).
Good work on binning the BNP papers, not so much on voting labour.

Cunt

(, Fri 19 Aug 2011, 20:14, closed)
yeah
I'm gonna have to agree with this one. Sorry to play the hippy card, but the animals are only "pests" because you decided to set up shop in their habitat. It's a bit like saying that the slaughter of Native Americans was OK because they were in the way.
(, Fri 19 Aug 2011, 22:42, closed)
Ah, right.
And you live in a tent of woven branches and only eat fruit tha has naturally fallen to the ground?
(, Sat 20 Aug 2011, 7:34, closed)
How is this related to hunting?
Buffoon.
(, Sun 21 Aug 2011, 18:30, closed)
the statement "you decided to set up shop in their environment"
being said by anyone living in the first world is stuffed with so much hypocrisy, lack of self awareness and general stupidity I literally fell off my chair.

Fuckwhit.

I think that many of the people who react like this to mention of fox hunting
like the feeling of moral superiority and the opportunity of throwing some guilt free abuse, rather than having any commitment to 'animal rights'. They'll sit at their keyboard eating a bacon sandwich that came from a pig that spent it's life in a cage and died screaming.

ahhh the old debate
troll or fuckwit.
as someone from an old hunt family i'd go with either. yet to meet a hunt bod i respect. and i'm posh enough to claim heritage of both.

you dick.

Freddie Mercury was pro-hunting?
I'm hoping he only did it so he could wear that darling red and white outfit..................

I once played with my banjo in public
now I have an ASBO. Looks like it's one rule for the posh hunting toffs and another for muggins here.
