Polish is so complex it has low and high plurals
So it's 1 point, 2-4 point-y, 5+ pointow. Then 101 pointow, 102-104 pointy, 105+ pointow...

Ok where the fuck is 2can...serious advice needed.
Went into hospital with what was supposed to just be a chest infection.

Diagnosed with sepsis and pneumonia after multiple misdiagnoses including pulmonary embolism (?), had injections in my stomach, 4 days of intravenous antibiotics, and morphine to deal with the severe and I mean SEVERE pain I was suffering in my left side of my torso around to my back. Diagnosed with pleurisy.

So almost ten days later; chest has cleared. No more night sweats, no more headaches, no more General feeling of being unwell. But Jesus Fucking Christ on a bike. This pain is no longer just severe it's fucking very fucking severe. I haven't slept now for the second night on the run. I can't lie on my back or my left side at all. I feel bloated permanently and tramadol and codiene is having little to no affect in sorting it out.

I realise that this is something I probably should have sent to 2can privately but I also realise he is not here to give medical advice, but I am hoping someone here can give me some advice or maybe have experience with something similar.

And yes I will be going straight to the docs tomorrow morning or the hospital if it's still this bad in a few hours.

Sorry for being a terrible needy prick/bore.

Last year's trip to Madeira involved an aborted landing, having to land on another island to refill with fuel, a forest fire that covered almost half of the island, majorly loud music at all times (great fun with trying to get the calves to sleep), a unexpected naked man and various other woes.

Today is technically my Friday, but feels very much like a Wednesday.
My daughter's replacement phone arrived, yesterday. Cheap and cheerful, but designed to look like a Samsung handset, with even the Android installation skinned to emulate the big, spazzy, iPhone-style icons that Samsung favour, it's amusing to see that is considerably faster in use than the phones it's aping. Obscure brand, though, so the odds of me routing it and sticking vanilla Android (RIP Cyanogen) on there are vanishingly small.

I think having access to Android security updates makes it worthwhile,
that and having cleaner software (something like TouchWiz is an awful thing to foist on the public). Binning the launcher is almost always worth doing, at least (and you don't need root for that).

Nope.
My knowledge starts and stops at "reading inductions on the XDA developers forum".
I'm tempted to learn - this new handset is, on paper, the same as the Wileyfox Spark that it's replacing, and so it ought to be possible to get it from Lollipop to Marshmallow - but old dog / new tricks, I fear.

I have an iPhone 6 (or at least I will have when I get it back off the filth this morning) someone on Facebook wants to swap, I give them the iPhone 6 they give me a PS4 with 4 games.

That's a decent deal isn't it?

If you have an iPhone 6
then a decent swap is a wet dog shit in a bag, because at least you end up with a bag that could be used for something else.

I've got a cast iron frying pan.
Looking after it is a piece of piss and I use it loads. I wouldn't want to make curries in a thin teflon pan, for instance. Also, you can't beat a proper metal spatula.

#spatulachat

(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 16:43, archived)
I gave up trying to stop things sticking to cast iron pans, early on in my cooking experience (my dad owned a couple he swore by, but I couldn't even fry an egg in one - excellent for pancakes, though).
Non-stick is very convenient.
I do have an uncoated griddle (little more than a massive flat circle of metal, with a handle) for drop scones / scotch pancakes, though. The urge to scrub it clean is fairly strong.
(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 17:06, archived)
You just have to use the pans a bit I found.
At first the egg stuck on mine but after using it a bit its fine now. That seemed far more effective than seasoning it in the oven.

I've got an enamel coated cast le cruset casserole dish and that thing's useless for frying anything delicate as a patina won't build up on it, alright for browning stuff and then throwing in the oven though.
(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 17:11, archived)
The only pan I ever took the time to season was a wok,
but I'll still reach for the non-stick one if I'm doing egg fried rice.

Metal spatula on metal pan is preferable, though, I'll grant you that.

Faggot was more of an american term.
Lucky for me, I had super manly hobbies, like playing Frontier on the Amiga, and painting my lead figures.

There's a Stephen Fry joke about that,
where a little girl is waiting in bed for her bedtime story and her mum comes in with a book about Australia, and the girl says "Mum! What did you bring a book to read out of about Down Under up for?".

Thus ending the sentence with seven consecutive prepositions.
(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 12:45, archived)
Stephen Fry should shut up.

(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 13:28, archived)
hardly any of those are prepositions though
Just because a verb particle looks like a preposition, doesn't mean it is one.
(, Mon 27 Mar 2017, 12:47, archived)
Yeh but it makes for a more coherent sentence than "What did you bring a book throughout notwithstanding until atop behind Down Under for?"
