# Thread Jack
I have a .mov file that I didn't make that I need to make smaller (filesize wise). I don't really need to keep it in .mov format, but I don't know anything about digital movies, so I thought someone here might.

I have Fireworks. Something tells me this won't help.

# can you zip it
to reduce it?
Otherwise you'll need to get into a messy conversion type thing.
(, Wed 2 Apr 2003, 16:11, archived)
# No, it still has to be useable
It's for a well-known website, so no hackiness permitted at all. Compression stuff is what I sought. Preferably freeware...

# you'd need a video editing program then and maybe try and save it as a mov with lower quality
or as a divX or something. Where did you get it from? Maybe they can help.

# You'd have to ask my editor
he gives me the stuff and I put it up. I don't even know why we need it yet.
