# Unexpected Tarsier!
Also a bit like The Day Today logo, sort of.

# Yeah loved that series - why do all the best comedies always come to an early end?
(, Fri 9 Jul 2010, 10:55, archived)
# Because they come to an early end!
although that also applies to some dreadful comedies, but only if they get no viewers.

# Yeah but we don't miss the dreadful ones
Chris Morris is a genius and so rarely seen now.

I watched Mongrels on BBC Three the other day now that's the sort of near-the-knuckle comedy we need - until it gets banned.

# Is that good then?
I avoid anything on BBC3

# Yeah - they use puppet characters a Fox, Pigeon, Dog, a pedo Cat etc.
and they get away with murder especially the pedo-cat epsiode, during that episode the Fox tried to get an "acting" part on NatureWatch and stated he had gone to the Mel Gibson school of acting which they switch to a clip Mel: "Ok who's fault is it when you forget your lines?" fox: "Oh oh oh is it the jews?"

# All the best comedies end when they should
In most cases two series is enough

# Brass Eye got banned though
just as it was getting good. But I suppose you're right especially given how cringeworthy Harry Endfield became at the end.
(, Fri 9 Jul 2010, 11:02, archived)
# It didn't get banned

(, Fri 9 Jul 2010, 11:08, archived)
# Well Chris pulled it then or someone pulled it.
either way it was an effectual ban.
(, Fri 9 Jul 2010, 11:11, archived)
# nah....
he just gets bored very quickly

Brass Eye was never banned

# Michael Grade postponed showing the original series
and apparently edited various episodes (resulting in the "Grade is a Cunt" flashframe in the last one). But it was never banned/axed/pulled. I'm not aware of Morris even saying he wouldn't do any more, but he's never done anything for more than a couple of series.

# There's really no need to get so pedantic about the details of it
after that infamous episode it stopped being shown for one reason or another I don't really care why only that I miss the sheer comedy of it and felt that the world was really fucked up because the Media takes itself so fucking seriously.

# maybe - but if you're trying to humilate me with knowing the facts ok you won
I don't know the full story behind the ending of the series all I know is it ending with the shitstorm in the press and that annoyed me especially all the "Outraged of Tumbridge Wells" type comments so I don't know why you're persuing this as I've already stated as much.
(, Fri 9 Jul 2010, 11:47, archived)
# I wasn't trying to do anything like that at all
merely following up on my statement that it wasn't banned. I certainly wasn't trying to humiliate you, I wasn't even trying to provoke a reaction and didn't expect a reply.

My last post was an attempt to light-heartedly draw a line under it. Clearly that failed.
