do you at least somewhat agree or am I on my own here? maybe it's bc I work at a news media website and get bombarded w/lohan-esque stories nonstop, but this endless cycle of celebrity crap coverage is the reason society is ass backwards and so god damn dumb...and getting dumber. Excluding everyone here, of course.

but the news agencies are mainly responsible for touting it as news. If it was just left to the gossip magazines/website and ignored by news agencies (unless it really IS news) then may be things will change.

also - as A Vagabond (and Pliny) said - many, MANY people have nothing else to fill their empty heads with. Perhaps people these days suffer from information overload, so just shut down to all but the most basic and easy to absorb stuff.

I try to avoid it if possible, though I did enjoy reading about Jordan's wedding. Photographers wounded in warzones probably have a club. Photographers wounded outside Stringfellows probably carry a club.
