# i find lowering the colours and dither helps dramatically (in photoshop)
i just think a lot of people don't know about it.

# I dither about quite a lot
I'm very indecisive

# i suppose it depends on what's going on in your gif
this one here is pretty straight forward jokes wise, but i find for some, the low dither/colour option takes out too much detail a lot of the time.
in that case i'll resort to optimizing it near the limit, but usually aim lower for the sake of others.

# Yeah no point in destroying a decent animation for the sake of a few bytes or so
I think in general the 400k limit is often pushed closer to 450k in practice, but in the above animation there was no real need for 699k.

# this is b3ta not an art gallery
jokes first, graphical quality second.
A joke is still funny whether it is in 127 or 256 colours

# Absolutely, and you know me I always aim to bring my animations under the limit
as for jokes being better than quality of image - we have the likes of Mutated Monty who always worked within the previous 200k limit and made gif magic for us all to drool over.

# and if you really must have it in HD just Youtube it and bung it on links

# Ah you mean the "other" place across the wide chasm of /Talk
and through the dark dank tunnels of the foreboding QotW. T'is a hearty venture and those with true faith will do so easily but I fear for the young'uns! They oft get lost in the catacombs of Rob's underwear and end up posting their /Links here on /Board
