Last month, they repeated and thus gave extra credence the quite incorrect "Dogs are worse than SUVs" meme, which originates from a PR release, widely reported churned out by the news last year, for a sensationalist environmentalist book called "Time to Eat the Dog". This article explains why the estimates, assumptions and calculations that the authors used were wrong and this is the blogpost that I published after watching that particular episode of QI.

One of them, that being the one for Vatican City, is 14. 13, which is Spain is lower than 14.

No country in Europe has a 12 year old age of consent and QI was, as I like to call it, wrong.

that well known area of accuracy Wikipedia says you're right, but the only official list of consent laws I could find says your wrong and QI is right, so, I dunno.

Wiki mind says 'The age of consent in Italy is 14 years, with a close-in-age exception that allows those aged 13 to engage in sexual activity with partners who are less than 3 years older.'

I'm glad it had the 'er'...

I like lower consent ages when accompanied by close age clauses (and I am far too old to 'benefit', I just think it is more sensible (and I have three daughters)).

The last time the Vatican made a law it was indeed 12 (many, many years ago) but they switched to being in line with Italy a long, long time ago as well and the age of consent there is now 14, regardless of what QI or your bad link says. It is possible to have sex at 13 in VC with permission from parents and if the partner is under 16, but I understand it never happens.

Canada, Italy, Vatican City and many other countries have a close age consent system, so that under 16s (under 18s in Canada) can only have sex where the consent is explicit and it is very easy to prosecute for having sex with under 16s. In VC there are situations where the other partner needs to be close in age (within 3 years iirc) and in Canada, from 14-18 the partners need to be within 2 years of each other.

The fact that we drop our girls straight in at 'anyone can fuck you' from 'nobody can fuck you' at 16 and have such a high pregnancy rate suggests there way may be better.

Close age laws teaches people what is going on and satisfies curiosity whilst avoiding abuse from much older predatory males.

I got it all worked out in me head, they're very bad childers and got coal last year, so this year they've set this up from parts nicked from Uncle Colin's dungeon in the celler!

They put the lube and note up there earlier standin on a chair, Jimmy's got the baseball bat for a good smack on the knee while Santa's working out the situation, then one on the head as he falls down, then it's keks off, hogtied and pull the note so the lube falls and sis can do the deed while Jimmy waits till he regains consciousness long enough to call him a bitch and demand a BigTrak!

If he still says coal, he gets the piss gag!
