# I'm on day 2 of my enforced Public transport trek
So far it's costing me £11.30 per day

and that's if I forgo the 2 bus journeys from the Station in Leeds to the office - it's a 40 minute walk (or a 25 minute run/walk) and I'm knackered!

# 'kin nora
imagine if you had to take public transport every day, it'd cost a fortune.

no joy with the car at all?

# they couldn't really look at it last night
£58.50 per week on public transport to get to work - and that involves getting up at 5.45 to get the bus into town, plus a mile walk down the hill to catch the bus, then a mile back up when I get home

vs about £55 a fortnight in diesel

and they want to get us out of the car and onto Public transport??

# it's not likely gonna happen unless you live in london
or some other large metropolitan area that has large penalties for taking your car into town.

big rises in fares doesn't help either.

# I know I haven't used the bus regularly since I was a kid, but when did bus fares go up to £2 for a 3 mile ride? into town
when I was at school, it was 25p (for a child) for a 5 mile journey from village to town

# Everyone moans about the public transport costs in London
but they are nothing compared to the rest of the country.
At my mum's it costs £2 for a journey I could walk in 15 mins
(i had to bus it cos mum was with me, and she's got a free bus pass so won't walk anywhere)

# see, that's a waste
what's also a waste, is I got a jumpstart on the bus this morning, due to being impatient, and walked the first half a mile, before the bus turned up, and it still cost the same as it would had I waited in the shelter and read my book. But still, it was good exercise, even though I got soaked.
