My personal philosophy (apply this as you will to software, mobile phones, cars etc): IF IT DOES THE JOB, THEN YOU DON'T NEED A NEW ONE!

Awful, awful program with no new functionality. Purely to make a quick buck. Uninstalled it from my new work laptop and put 2003 back on. I couldn't be arsed to wait to download the plugin for back-compatibility, so I just use Open Office to open them. I much prefer Open Office, just a shame so few people use it. It's free, FFS...

Also now got Office 2011 - so the .docx .xlsx .pptx issues are a thing of the past
