I found out this week I need root canal work on a tooth. That means I need a crown fitted afterwards.
As it turns out our insurance covers almost all of the cost, so it's under $300.
Apparently though my wife's boss just had a similar thing done, and it cost him $1500. I told her maybe she'd misunderstood. Perhaps he meant an actual crown, like the queen of England has.
