# Just out of interest
what percentage of all pics posted here achieve 'success' in your opinion?
And what constitutes success?
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 1:45, archived)
# Success is roughly 56% carbohydrates, 26% protein, 11% fat, and the rest is nice burnt crunchy bits.

# May I perhaps recommend today's special, The Failure, sir?
There's nothing pleasant about it, but it does have the advantage that if you drop it on the floor and accidentally step on it, it probably won't make it any worse.

# OK, that's three FAILs and a soup of the day for us, please.
Thursday, if there's a choice.

Success has a number of discrete criteria.
I don't have time to elaborate on these.

# Hahahaha
too busy making successful pictures, eh?
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 1:59, archived)
# As ever.
Look, I was trying to be nice about a freebase pic when, in common with a lot of people, I'm usually dismissive of them.
And you're just trying to goad me into being unreasonable, inconsistent and argumentative when I'm trying to have a day off from all that.

There might be children watching!

But do what you want. Much as I enjoy your company, I have no wish to dictate your sleep patterns.

(that was a subtle GH there)
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 2:27, archived)
# Yeah, nice GH there.
My GH earlier about the freebase pic nearly backfired, though.
It clearly can't be deployed willy-nilly.

I've been browsing pics on google, hoping for inspiration for a successful pic.
This might not be the best way to go about it, I keep finding myself drawn to the ghoulish and unpleasant.
I'm gonna end up doing another bel-air if I'm not careful.

# After your gaz yesterday I found a full version of the gig on youtube.
The visuals were pretty crappy (from a phone I think) but the sound was straight from the sound board. It did look like a wonderful set. I'd love to see the BBC version.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 2:43, archived)
# It's superb. The sound engineering and everything. Worth pursuing, I'd say.

# whose gig?
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 3:06, archived)
# Radiohead, the 97 Glastonbury set.
The BBC showed it yesterday but I can't get iPlayer here.

# here being outside the UK?
Do proxy sites not work for that?
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 3:30, archived)
# Long story short:
I've installed Tor and tried with that. No problem getting a UK IP address, but Flash player (and therefore iPlayer) doesn't work by default under Tor.
I think I found a work-around today but I haven't tested it yet. There are conflicting 'solutions' online as well as plenty of responses to those solutions saying they don't work. We'll see I guess. I would love to get iPlayer working.
(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 3:42, archived)
# It's definitely worth getting if you can.
I almost never watch TV any more, just iplayer.

(, Mon 20 Jun 2011, 3:19, archived)
# I do like Radiohead. And this particular gig has been reproduced gorgeously.
But, being a suicidally-inclined kind of dood, I can sometimes find their records a bit suffocating to listen to.
