When you realize the same tricks trailers pull, it's hard to not notice them.For example, if the trailer's for a comedy, there will ALWAYS be a part where the music cuts out and a dumb line is said.

not to mention the slapstick 'face hits something' momentor the burp at the end of the trailer to make the kids go 'wow, that looks worth seeing'
I do enjoy those links where they recut trailers to make them different films, such as the shining as a comedy.
Its amazing how much power a trailer has over the film. I think it was solaris or something that had a trailer that made it look like 'Alien', rather than the subtle, lovely film it was.

I know exactly what you mean.Sometimes it can work in the film's favour, but in some cases, like Inglorious Basterds, it made it look like a light hearted Nazi fighting romp, which it, well, wasn't.
The exposition in a trailer is very important too. For example, people complain the Dark Knight Rises trailer shows nothing at all. I disagree; I'd still be satisfied if it's the only trailer released for it.
